The Urgent Need in Illinois for Unit-Based Multidisciplinary Teams to Investigate Child Abuse
In February 2016, Illinois Children’s Justice Task Force released a new report,”The Urgent Need in Illinois for Unit-Based Multidisciplinary Teams to Investigate Child Abuse.” The report to the Illinois General Assembly (per Public Act 099-0023) offers recommendations to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) directed at improving investigative, administrative, and judicial handling of child abuse cases, in a manner that limits additional trauma to the child victim.
